How our free shed matching service works
- Step 1: Answer a few questions about your build using our Turn-Key or Contractor form.
- Step 2: Our local team reviews your answers and puts your details to our network of shed builders suited for your job.
- Step 3: Once your job has been accepted a builder will get in touch with a custom quote tailored to your shed project.
How we get paid
The Shed Guru is free to use for homeowners. We’re paid by the contractors on our platform, who subscribe to access leads and pay per job they quote on. That means no cost to you, and no incentive for us to push you toward anyone who isn’t right for the job.

Our vetting process
Before we match you with a shed builder, we check the following on every company and contractor in our network:
- ABN and business registration: We confirm the company is a registered Australian business.
- Building services licence: Where the supplier performs notifiable or permit work, we confirm they hold the relevant licence under the Occupational Licensing Act 2005, as required by the Building Act 2016.
- Track record: We check how long our partners have been operating for.
- Delivery and install capability: We check the supplier can deliver and install in the region you’re building, including rural and regional areas.
- Customer references: Where available, we seek feedback from past customers about their experience with the supplier.
- Network exclusivity: We don’t accept every builder who asks to join. Builders we can’t verify, or who don’t meet our standards, don’t get added to the network.
- Ongoing feedback loop: We follow up with customers after the introduction so we know how each supplier is performing. Suppliers who don’t meet expectations are removed from the network.
Backed by 15 years of industry experience, we know the shed market and the suppliers worth recommending.
